Order Matzah

  • Matzah (in Hebrew מַצָּה, also spelled "Matzo") is unleavened bread made from just flour and water and baked before it has a chance to rise. It is eaten on Passover eve, at the center of the Seder celebration.

It recalls how the Exodus took place so swiftly that the dough had no time to rise and was baked as matzah. At the Seder, it is eaten together with maror, bitter herbs, which recall the pain of our enslavement in Egypt.

It is strongly recommended to use handmade, round shmurah matzah to fulfill this commandment.
